Quizzes

Quizzes help you check what you have learned. On BrightLearn, you must pass a module quiz before the next module unlocks, and pass the final exam to earn your certificate.

Before you begin

  1. Log in to BrightLearn.
  2. Open an Active course.
  3. Watch all video lessons in the current module first — see Watch videos.

Module quizzes

Each module ends with a quiz. You must pass it before you can continue to the next module.

Step 1 — Open a module quiz

  1. Go to My Courses and open your course.
  2. Finish every lesson in the current module.
  3. Find the lesson labeled Quiz at the end of the module.
  4. Click the quiz title.

Step 2 — Read the instructions

  1. Read any instructions at the top of the page.
  2. Note the time limit and number of attempts if shown.

Step 3 — Answer each question

  1. Read the question carefully.
  2. Click your answer (multiple choice) or type your answer (short answer).
  3. Use Next to move to the following question.
  4. Use Previous to review earlier answers if allowed.

Step 4 — Submit the quiz

  1. Review your answers on the summary page if available.
  2. Click Submit or Finish quiz.
  3. Wait for your score and feedback.

If you are unsure about a question, skip it and return before submitting — only if the quiz allows going back.

Step 5 — Unlock the next module

  1. If you pass, the next module unlocks automatically.
  2. If you did not pass and attempts remain, click Retake quiz.
  3. Review the lesson material and try again.

Attend your classes and watch all module videos before taking the quiz. This gives you the best chance to pass on your first try.

Final exam

After you complete every module and pass all module quizzes, you must pass the final exam to earn your certificate.

Step 1 — Open the final exam

  1. Open your course from My Courses.
  2. Scroll to the end of the lesson list.
  3. Find the lesson labeled Final exam or Final quiz.
  4. Click to open it.

Step 2 — Complete the final exam

  1. Read the instructions carefully.
  2. Answer every question.
  3. Click Submit or Finish exam.
  4. Wait for your score.

Step 3 — Get your certificate

  1. If you pass, your course is marked complete.
  2. Follow View your certificate to see and download it.

You cannot receive a certificate until you pass the final exam, even if all other lessons show as complete.

Troubleshooting

Submit button is disabled.

Answer all required questions. Look for unanswered items marked in red.

Quiz timed out.

Start again if attempts remain. Work a little faster or note the time limit before starting.

Next module is locked.

Pass the module quiz for your current module first. Watch all lessons in that module if any are still incomplete.

Final exam is not available.

Complete every module and pass all module quizzes first.

Yes. You must pass every module quiz and the final exam to complete the course and get a certificate.

Can I retake a quiz?

Yes, if attempts remain. Check the quiz page for how many tries you have left.
